The ingredients needed to make Tuna Mapo Tofu:
  1. Get 1/2 tbsp Sichuan peppercorns
  2. Make ready 1 can (420 g) tuna
  3. Get 250 g soft tofu, cubed
  4. Make ready 1 tbsp doubanjiang chilli bean sauce
  5. Get 1 cup water
  6. Prepare 1 tsp corn starch
  7. Make ready 1 tsp oyster sauce
  8. Take 4 tbsp vegetable oil
  9. Take 1/2 tsp sesame oil (optional)
Steps to make Tuna Mapo Tofu:
  1. Coarsely grind the Sichuan peppercorns.
  2. On medium heat, heat vegetable oil in a wok or pan and fry the ground peppercorns for a minute.
  3. Increase heat to medium high, add the tuna, stir fry for 1–2 minutes. Add doubanjiang and mix well.
  4. Add ½ cup water, bring to a boil. Mix the other ½ cup water, corn starch, and oyster sauce. When it boils reduce heat to medium low, add tofu, stir until the sauce thickens. Serve topped on ruce with more Sichuan peppercorns and drizzled with sesame oil.
  5. Ready to serve and ENJOY!
