To get started with this particular recipe, we have to prepare a few ingredients. You can cook claypot tofu using 13 ingredients and 7 steps. Here is how you can achieve it.

The ingredients needed to make Claypot tofu:
  1. Prepare 100 gm minced pork
  2. Make ready 6-7 medium size prawns
  3. Get 1 block silken tofu
  4. Make ready Broccoli florets
  5. Prepare 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  6. Get 1 tsp light soya sauce
  7. Make ready 1 tsp sesame oil
  8. Make ready 2 tbsp Shaoxing wine
  9. Make ready 2 tbsp coconut oil
  10. Take 100 ml water
  11. Take White Pepper
  12. Make ready Chilli
  13. Make ready Spring Onions

As opposed to a furiously sizzling hot plate, a claypot is believed to be able to retain heat and keep food bubbling hot while also retaining the flavours. Sapo tahu is a Chinese Indonesian tofu dish traditionally cooked and served in claypot. Sapo tahu may be served as a vegetarian dish, or with chicken, seafood (especially shrimp), minced beef or pork. It is a popular tofu dish in Indonesia.

Steps to make Claypot tofu:
  1. Marinate 100gm minced pork with light soya sauce, sesame oil and pepper. Set aside.
  2. Clean and de-vein prawns, marinate with salt and pepper. Set aside. In a bowl mix oyster sauce, light soy sauce and 100ml water. Set aside
  3. Add 2 tbsp coconut oil in claypot to coat the whole clay pot base.
  4. Fry minced garlic and white part spring onion in medium/ low heat until fragrant.
  5. Gently add 1 block silken tofu into the claypot. Place the marinated minced pork on top of tofu. Pour in mixed sauce. Cover claypot and cook over medium heat for 10 minutes.
  6. Open the lid after 10 minutes add prawns, broccoli florets and Shaoxing wine. Cook for another 5 minutes. Lastly add cornstarch to thicken the sauce.
  7. Garnish with sliced chilli and spring onion.
  8. Ready to serve and ENJOY!

Sapo tahu may be served as a vegetarian dish, or with chicken, seafood (especially shrimp), minced beef or pork. It is a popular tofu dish in Indonesia. Stir in the corn starch mixture and bring the contents up to a boil. Remove the claypot from the heat and serve in the claypot with cooked white rice. Sapo tahu (claypot egg tofu) is one of the popular Indonesian Chinese food I grew up with.
