Instructions to make Simple Mapo Tofu:
- Drain excess water from the tofu for half a day.
- Combine the seasonings.
- Heat vegetable oil and fry the garlic gently to bring out the flavor.
- Add the pork and carrot and stir fry.
- After the meat is cooked through, pour in the mixed seasonings. Simmer to let the meat absorb the flavor.
- Add the tofu and leek to simmer. It’s done.
- My kids (3 year-old and 1 year-old) who love dishes seasoned with tianmianjiang, finished off the plate when I added blanched komatsuna to the dish!
