The ingredients needed to make Tofu Butter Masala:
- Prepare 2 Roughly chopped onions
- Get 2 Roughly chopped tomato
- Take 4 green chillies
- Get 6 tsp oil
- Prepare 2 tsp butter
- Make ready 4 tsp Kashmiri Red Chilli powder
- Make ready 2 pods garlic (big)
- Make ready 1/2 inch ginger
- Prepare 10 cashews
- Take 1/2 tsp garam masala
- Take as per taste Salt
- Make ready as per need Water
- Make ready 2 tsp Fresh cream
Instructions to make Tofu Butter Masala:
- Take out Tofu from the box, drain out the water, wrapping tissue towel press all the moisture content in tofu leave it for 10 to 15 mins, later unwrapp the tissue. Check for tofu make sure it lost all the moisture content. Then cut into cube (don’t make it very small, it may crumble easily)
- Tofu is taste less, So we have to Marinate it first. Take a bowl, add tofu cubes, Salt to taste, Kashmiri Red Chilli powder, pepper powder, toss it well. so that everything is marinated equally. Rest it for for 15 mins.
- For Gravy, roughly chopped 2 Onions, 2 Tomatoes, 4 Green chillies, 2 big cloves of garlic, 1/2 inch of ginger, 10 cashews (Soak it in water for 10mins)
- After 15mins of resting tofu, tawa roast the tofu using oil till it changes into golden brown
- In a wide pan, add 4 tsp of oil, then add green chillies, garlic & ginger pieces. Give it a good mix. Add roughly chopped onion, mix it well till it changes it’s colour, then add roughly chopped tomato, give it a good mix it becomes soft.
- Once tomato becomes soft, add soaked Cashews, mix it for 2 to 3 mins, turn of the stove. Allow it cool down
- Once it cools down completely, transfer it to a mixer, grind it into a smooth paste, don’t add any water while grinding it. Take a pan, add 2 tsp of butter & 2 tsp of oil, then transfer ground mixture to the pan, give it a good mix for 2 - 3 mins in a medium flame
- Adjust the consistency of the gravy by adding water, allow it to boil. Then add 2 tsp of Kashmiri Red Chilli powder, salt to taste, 1/2 tsp of garam masala powder. Give it a good mix
- Close the lid,allow it to boil for 2-3 mins, then add tawa roasted tofu to gravy, boil it for 7 to 8 mins
- Topped the gravy with lot of cream. Now very creamy & yummilious tofu butter masala is ready to serve. You can Serve with kulcha, naan, Chapati, pulka, ghee rice or jeera rice.
